White Bird

In case I have any credulity left after the snowflake story, I have to document what happened yesterday while Jason was telling me over the phone why he thinks I may be ready to do some membrane piercing. A white dove flew onto the ledge outside the window through which I was looking a few feet away. I didn't move with the probable exception of my jaw dropping, but he spotted me and practically stared me down. Although white doves are not uncommon in Hawaii. I cannot recall seeing one on the led… Continue

I'm now able to do things they say cannot be done

Today I'm comparing apples and oranges.

Oranges are mostly spherical, whereas apples are more apple-shaped, so to speak.

Apples are red, sometimes green, whereas oranges have, um, more of a yellowish hue. There's a word for that color I can't think of right now.

it spikes my curosity that Blue Rain eliminated psychiatrty as a career choice and reminded me of coming to terms with why i eliminated pediatrics 25 years ago. As a child of eight, I was sent to get a haircut on the afternoon my new baby brother, Howard, came home from the hospital. i waited for several languid hours for my father to pick me up and take me home. finally, he entered, accepted congratualations, passed out cigars and took me to the car. i heard the siren long before I saw the ambulance, as it passed by. I saw my mother perched in the rear window gesturing for my father to follow.
I was in the right place to witness a painful shift in our lives.
From that one experience (and others that came later) I have both resisted being involved with children (fearing they would be taken away like my infant brother) or drawn to causes and enterprises that helps/improves children's lives. The more I resisted it, the greater my contributions have been or (I was scripted to give). Life is good like that, right?

Hi Patrick,
This wooden man is my handicraft. I just like to prolong tree's life after they're fallen down.
And he looks like you maybe because I made him up as I did with you :-)
