My Dog the Hologram

I was napping next to my dog the other day. Half awake, I looked over to her and scanned her. I haven't done this in a while. Even now, I'm not sure what made me zero in on

her in particular. My best guess is that

I was just following a subtle feeling.

The instant before I started to scan her, my expectations told me that I was going to feel, fur, dopey/dumb, puppy love kind of feeling, maybe a glimmer…

I've been asking and seeking since I was a child. I still haven't "pierced the membrane."

Why?

It seems like nothing less than punishment to have one part of you know what is out there, While every other part of you actively keeps you from experiencing it.
